Michelle Julet helps people move from “what if?” to “what’s next.” As the new Director of the Baker Institute, she’s ready to support Lehigh students, faculty, and partners as they explore, test, and launch ideas that matter.
Leading with creativity and purpose, Michelle joins Lehigh at a pivotal time. As Lehigh’s entrepreneurial culture continues to grow, she brings the strategic vision and hands-on experience to deepen our impact. With more than 20 years of experience at the intersection of entrepreneurship, innovation, and corporate strategy, Michelle knows how to support innovators at every stage—from first spark to final pitch.
I am honored to be part of Lehigh’s dynamic entrepreneurial team. The university’s strong commitment to cultivating an entrepreneurial mindset, supporting startup incubation, and engaging the broader Lehigh community is truly distinctive. - Michelle Julet, Director of the Baker Institute
Reflecting on her new role, Michelle shares: "I am honored to be part of Lehigh’s dynamic entrepreneurial team. The university’s strong commitment to cultivating an entrepreneurial mindset, supporting startup incubation, and engaging the broader Lehigh community is truly distinctive. The foundational emphasis on design thinking will undoubtedly empower students to become the innovative leaders and changemakers of tomorrow."
Most recently, Michelle served as Director of the Entrepreneurship Center at Washtenaw Community College, where she built the center from the ground up—developing high-impact programs, building strong community partnerships, and helping students launch ventures with confidence.
In addition to her work in higher education, Michelle is the founder of The Business of Doing Good, a nonprofit that empowers young people to tackle real-world challenges through entrepreneurial thinking, financial literacy, and career readiness. While separate from her campus roles, this work reflects a deeply held commitment to inclusive, accessible, and experiential learning.
Now at Lehigh, Michelle is poised to lead the Baker Institute and contribute to the broader mission of the Office of Entrepreneurship—championing student-driven innovation and supporting faculty and staff as they bring ideas to life across disciplines.
You can find Michelle and the Baker Institute team in their new home at 472 Vine Street on the Asa Packer Campus. Stop by, say hello, share your ideas—and discover what’s possible when creative minds come together.
